Job Description

Inside Sales Manager

Would you like to join an incredibly talented group of people, doing very challenging work, with the prime directive of "Keeping Our Heroes Connected"?

The Opportunity

Silvus is seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, and high-energy Inside Sales Manager to design, build, and scale our first-ever dedicated Inside Sales Department from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity for a builder. You will not just be managing a pipeline; you will be defining the playbooks, selecting the tech stack, structuring the sales support workflows, and hiring the foundational team that will drive new customer acquisition and customer success for our cutting-edge wireless technology. This role reports directly to our Vice President of Sales, North America.

If you are a technical sales leader who thrives on turning ambiguity into process and enjoys leading from the front, this role is for you. This role requires up to 10% travel for business reviews as needed.

This position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies' headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA.

The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

Role and Responsibilities

Department Architecture & Leadership

  • Build the Infrastructure: Establish the core operational framework and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the new Inside Sales and Support team.
  • Team Growth & Mentorship: Recruit, hire, onboard, and train a high-performing team of Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs) and Sales Support Specialists.
  • Playbook Development: Design outbound prospecting playbooks, inbound lead qualification frameworks, and post-sale technical support handoff workflows.

Sales & New Customer Creation

  • Pipeline Development: Drive outbound strategies targeting new accounts within our key verticals (Unmanned Systems, Defense, Law Enforcement, and Public Safety).
  • Lead Qualification: Manage inbound inquiries and coordinate the capture of deep technical and programmatic requirements to ensure high-value opportunities are funneled cleanly to the regional field sales teams.
  • Revenue Generation: Own and exceed inside sales revenue targets, focusing on smaller-to-mid-tier accounts, hardware accessory packages, and software capability expansions.

Sales Support & Lifecycle Coordination

  • Deal Support: Oversee the creation of accurate technical quotes, proposal developments, RFI/RFP responses, and early-stage capture planning.
  • CRM Governance: Own the accuracy of the team's CRM data to provide executive leadership with reliable, predictable forecasting and data-driven market insights.
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the internal connective tissue between Inside Sales, Field Sales Directors, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing to resolve delivery or order constraints smoothly.
  • Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
  • Travel Requirement – Up to 10% of travel for business reviews as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Communications, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a highly technical field (wireless systems, network infrastructure, aerospace & defense, robotics, or complex embedded systems).
  • Leadership: 2+ years of experience managing, mentoring, or acting as a team lead within a tech-focused inside sales, sales development (SDR), or sales operations environment.
  • The "Builder" Mindset: Proven track record of creating new sales processes, implementing tech tools, or structuring teams from early stages rather than just executing an existing script.
  • Technical Acumen: Ability to learn and confidently articulate complex RF concepts, mesh networking capabilities constraints to technical buyers and engineers.
  • Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Direct experience selling to the defense sector, tactical communications industry, or military drone ecosystem.
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM administration, sales automation platforms, and modern data analytics tools.
  • Prior experience managing a blended sales and pre/post-sales customer support framework.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Office environment.
  • Trade shows.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
    • Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.
    • Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
    • Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.

Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 / annual base salary plus commission. OTE potential: up to $280,000

Note - As a US Federal Contractor, Silvus Technologies requires that ALL candidates being considered for employment for any position (regardless of level) MUST be a U.S. Person (permanent resident or citizen). Stricter U.S. Citizen ONLY requirements (needed for some Engineering or R&D roles) will be included in the Required Qualifications section of the posted position. This does NOT apply to international positions; only job postings for positions located in the US.
